OUR HISTORY

Michael J. Kelly & Son, Incorporated was established in 1947. Michael J. Kelly, Sr. emigrated from Kent, England and resided in Wayne, Pennsylvania. He went on to raise a family of ten children including Michael J. Kelly, Jr. who began learning the trade at a very young age working with his father.

In 1990, the reigns were passed on to Mike, Jr. who began expanding the company. As a result of decades of satisfied customers and hard work, he was able to expand beyond interior and exterior painting. The company since included services such as faux finishes, wallcovering installation and removal, carpentry, power washing, plastering and stucco finishes.

For over 60 years, Michael J. Kelly and Son has maintained a reputation of professionalism amongst not only their clients but others in the industry. The company has been a member of the PDCA, Painting and Decorating Contractors of America, www.PDCA.org, since 1950. They are also a member of WIA, Wallcovering Installers Association  NGPP, National Guild of Professional Paperhangers, www.NGPP.org, since 1984. Both organizations set forth "Industry Standards" that its members must abide by which defines accountability in the field.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Michael J. Kelly and Son, Incorporated, we approach each and every project with a personal attention to detail.

As every project is unique, we always perform an initial site visit. We take the time to review the client's needs and expectations. Michael J. Kelly and Son has found through years of experience that communication with the client and completing the project to the best of our ability has led to building strong, long-lasting work relationships; some spanning generations since Michael J. Kelly, Senior started the business in 1947. Whether working directly for the client or with a professional interior designer or architect, we are confident it will be completed to either yours or your client's complete satisfaction.

We are continually working with manufacturers and suppliers to stay up-to- date on new materials, especially in the areas of specialty products, which is why we regularly visit the manufacturing facilities and meet with their representatives. Michael has been running his painting and wall covering business since 1990 and has been asked to help write installation instructions for many manufacturers and is regularly called in throughout the United States to oversee jobs that require an experienced installer. Elizabeth has over 20 years of construction experience in working with architects, general contractors, and subcontractors allowing the job to be expedited and completed on time and within the parameters discussed at the projects onset. This helps set us apart from other companies in our field.
